Lesson 22 of 64
Selling & checkout
Record customer balances, receipts and statements
Follow customer credit and collections with a traceable ledger and statement period.
Before you begin
Identify the customer, currency and source sale or opening balance. Use customer-ledger permission.
Step by step
- Open Customer Ledger and search the exact customer before reviewing their balance.
- Set statement dates and inspect opening balance, sale or debt entries, receipts and running balance.
- Record actual receipt amount, date, method and cash or bank account using the supported customer payment form.
- Verify the saved receipt and any allocation to the intended debt or instalment. Do not enter the same cash receipt twice.
- Generate the available statement print or export and check the customer identity, date range and final balance before sharing.
Check the result
The receipt should appear once and the customer's remaining balance should reflect the recorded collection.
Common question
Is a customer statement the same as a wallet balance?
No. Review customer debt and wallet transactions in their own modules and preserve each source reference.
