Lesson 44 of 64
Stock, finance & operations
Record batch numbers, expiry and quality details
Use optional traceability fields for production records that need lot-level review.
Before you begin
Enable the required manufacturing capability and identify the production record and its posting state.
Step by step
- Open Batch / lot tracking and locate the relevant production record.
- Inspect product, quantity and status before editing traceability.
- For an editable unposted record, enter the batch number, manufacturing date, expiry and quality status where needed.
- Save and reopen the details, checking date consistency and the link to the original production record.
- Review posted or reversed records as retained history and inspect associated FIFO traceability where available.
Check the result
Traceability must identify the intended record without suggesting that a quality label independently moves stock.
Common question
Can posted lot history be freely overwritten?
Posted and reversed records retain history. Use the controls actually allowed for the record's state.
