Lesson 19 of 64
Selling & checkout
Configure POS registers and review activity
Prepare cashier controls and use session activity to investigate counter transactions.
Before you begin
Use POS management permission and identify the selling location and authorised cashier.
Step by step
- Open POS Settings and review registers and the available sale, receipt and session preferences.
- Confirm register location and permitted staff. Review cash and payment configuration before starting a live session.
- Prepare offline configuration separately while connected if the business needs it.
- Open POS Activity and filter the relevant session, dates or register. Inspect the original sale, receipt and payment references.
- Investigate cash movements and closing differences using the recorded session. Use linked corrections instead of creating a replacement sale.
Check the result
A cashier should open only the intended register and each activity item should lead back to its transaction.
Common question
Do settings changes automatically reconcile an old session?
No. Review and reconcile the actual session records; changing preferences is separate from correcting transactions.
