Lesson 24 of 64
Selling & checkout
Set up an online store and custom domain
Prepare your storefront, product visibility, delivery and checkout before publishing.
Before you begin
Your plan needs online-store access. Prepare your brand details, catalog, policies and the domain you control if using a custom domain.
Step by step
- Open Storefronts and select the intended storefront. Review its name, contact details, language and supported address settings.
- Choose the theme and layout, add branding and review navigation and policy pages. Preview changes at both phone and desktop widths.
- Review product visibility, descriptions, variant prices and stock. Set the available payment and delivery methods before testing checkout.
- For a custom domain, follow the domain controls to enter the required DNS records and complete verification. Wait for the displayed domain and certificate status.
- Check the cart, checkout, contact information and policies, then use the publication controls when ready. Review storefront SEO before inviting customers.
Check the result
Open the published address on a phone and confirm products, navigation and checkout work for a signed-out visitor.
Common question
Does saving a design mean the store is published?
Check the storefront's actual publication and maintenance status. Domain verification, design saving and publication are separate steps.
