Lesson 50 of 64
Stock, finance & operations
Read manufacturing output, material and cost reports
Compare production results with their source batches, material usage and final cost treatment.
Before you begin
Choose a consistent period, location and enabled manufacturing view with reporting permission.
Step by step
- Open Manufacturing Reports and review the available report tabs for the saved mode.
- Apply dates, location and product filters consistently before comparing totals.
- Compare output and material consumption with source batches and any work-order progress.
- Check estimated, posted and final cost distinctions, including factory allocation and period-close effects where enabled.
- Investigate outliers through linked source records and use the available export for reviewed reporting only.
Check the result
Every important total should be explainable from the selected scope and the source records it summarises.
Common question
Why does a manufacturing report differ from sales profit?
Production output, inventory cost and sold-product profit measure different stages. Compare dates, scope and posted status before reconciling.
