Review product profit and branch attribution
Understand branch and product reports using source attribution, FIFO costs and consistent filters.
Before you begin
Choose the reporting period and permitted branch scope. Have source references for any disputed item.
Step by step
- Open the product profit view and select the same dates used in your sales and accounting review.
- Inspect revenue, sold cost and gross profit. Trace unexpected cost to the sold FIFO layers or original return.
- Open Branch Attribution and review records that need a branch association or investigation.
- Use only the permitted attribution actions supported by the record. Verify the actual source branch before applying a correction.
- Recheck branch comparisons and Profit & Loss with unchanged dates and scope, distinguishing gross product profit from business net profit.
Check the result
Corrections should be traceable and totals should be compared on equivalent scope.
Common question
Why is branch profit different from company profit?
Scope, unallocated records, expenses and report definitions can differ. Review those factors before changing source transactions.
