Lesson 21 of 64
Selling & checkout
Prepare offline POS and reconcile sales
Prepare supported offline selling before a connection interruption and review queued sales after reconnecting.
Before you begin
Use an approved device while online. Offline operation must be enabled and prepared for that register; only selected workflows are supported.
Step by step
- While online, open POS Settings and review the register's offline configuration and permissions.
- Complete the preparation offered by the POS and check its readiness status before relying on offline selling.
- During an interruption, follow the supported offline actions and payment methods shown on screen. Online provider approval is still required for provider-dependent payments.
- Keep the same device and browser data until queued operations are reconciled. Reconnect and review pending, successful and attention-needed records.
- Resolve reported conflicts through the reconciliation workflow. Check the recorded sale before trying again to avoid a duplicate charge or sale.
Check the result
Confirm queued sales reach a final server status and that session totals, stock and payment records agree.
Common question
Can I start offline POS for the first time without internet?
Prepare it while connected first. Offline POS is a prepared workflow, and availability depends on the register, device and supported operations.
