Lesson 5 of 64
Getting started
Set up branches, addresses and stock locations
Give physical business sites clear identities and review branch performance with the correct scope.
Before you begin
Prepare each site's address, purpose and responsible staff. Branch-management permission is required for changes.
Step by step
- Open Branches & Locations and review existing sites before adding another.
- Use the branch management view to add or edit the business name, code and address fields offered by the form.
- Review the inventory locations associated with the site. Distinguish a sales branch from the specific store or warehouse holding goods.
- Check operational assignments for staff and registers so new activity uses the intended branch and location.
- Use comparison, growth or profitability views with one reporting period. Investigate unallocated activity before comparing branches.
Check the result
A sample receipt or sale should show the intended branch and stock location.
Common question
Does editing an address move stock?
Address changes describe a site. Move goods using the supported stock-transfer workflow and retain its movement record.
