Lesson 23 of 64
Selling & checkout
Create instalment plans and collect due payments
Turn an eligible POS balance or debt into a dated repayment plan and track real collections.
Before you begin
Have an eligible customer sale or debt with an available balance and agreed repayment terms.
Step by step
- Open Instalments, choose the POS-sale or debt source and verify customer, branch, currency and available balance.
- Set first due date and weekly, fortnightly or monthly interval. Enter the supported count or per-payment amount and review the resulting schedule.
- Review the agreement language and terms before creating the plan. Reopen the plan to verify its principal and due rows.
- Use due-payment views to identify the intended instalment. Record or apply a valid receipt through the available collection action.
- Check paid, remaining and review-needed states. Review receipts before retrying, cancelling a plan or correcting a collection.
Check the result
Scheduled amounts should reconcile to the principal, and valid collections must reduce the intended balance once.
Common question
Does making a schedule record customer cash?
No. A repayment schedule is a plan; actual receipts and their allocations provide collection evidence.
