Lesson 10 of 64
Getting started
Add products, variants and barcodes
Build a product catalog with clear names, SKUs, prices and variants for POS and online selling.
Before you begin
Prepare product names, selling prices, units and variant details. Decide which items are stocked goods and which need another supported product type.
Step by step
- Open Catalog and search first to avoid creating the same product twice. Use filters to distinguish active and inactive products.
- Create the product with a specific name, category, unit and SKU. Write a useful description explaining what the customer receives.
- For sizes, colours or other options, add the required variants and check each variant's identifier and price. Keep barcode values unique where used.
- Save and reopen the product. Verify prices and status, then establish stock through purchasing or the appropriate inventory workflow.
- Check how the product appears in POS or the storefront. Use Labels & Barcodes when preparing physical labels.
Check the result
Search by name and SKU and confirm the correct variant, price and stock location before selling.
Common question
Does creating a product automatically receive stock?
A catalog record describes the item. Use a supported receiving or inventory operation to record actual stock and its cost.
