Plan work orders and track staged production
Use optional planning and progress tracking for jobs that need due dates or staged execution.
Before you begin
Use an enabled mode with work-order access and identify the product, location and planned output.
Step by step
- Open Work Orders and create a planned job only when due dates or progress tracking are needed.
- Choose product, planned quantity and available planning details. A planning record alone does not post finished stock.
- Review the order detail and use its offered next production action, checking material and location requirements.
- For staged production, review issued materials, actual consumption, returns and output before confirming a stage.
- Compare planned, actual and remaining output. Use permitted cancellation or correction controls after checking whether output has already posted.
Check the result
Progress should be supported by actual production records and material movements.
Common question
Must every batch start from a work order?
No. Simple batches can go directly through Production; work orders provide optional planning and progress control.
